The Onboarding Wizard

When you sign up, a short onboarding wizard personalizes your workspace and takes you to the right starting point. It moves through four screens: your details, your goal, a goal-specific follow-up question, and the final setup confirmation. Your choices shape the questions you see and the environment ProcessMind prepares for you. Inviting other people is handled later from the application, not during onboarding. You can start the wizard right away with a free trial.

1. Your Details

What to do:

• Enter your first name, last name, and organization name.
• Optionally add your Organization website: ProcessMind reads it to learn about your organization, which powers personalized recommendations and prefills your company profile.
• You can also choose to subscribe to ProcessMind tips and updates.

Why it matters:

This information personalizes your workspace and is used for display and communication within the application.

2. Choose Your Goal

What to do:

1. Pick the goal that fits you best: Model, Architect, Analytics, Partner, Academics, or Other.
2. Click Continue. Your selection determines the next question and the starting path ProcessMind prepares for you.

Why it matters:

Your goal tells ProcessMind what you want to achieve so it can tailor the rest of onboarding and recommend the most relevant starting point.

3. Describe What You Want to Build

What to do:

• Answer the follow-up question for your selected goal. The available choices change based on whether you want to model processes, architect your organization, analyze data, or pursue another outcome.
• Select the option that best matches your intended work, or use Something else to describe it in your own words.
• Click Continue.

Why it matters:

This answer gives ProcessMind more context about your goal. It determines the path of questions and the environment setup you receive next.

4. Review and Finish

What to do:

• Review the tailored starting point shown for your goal.
• Review the agreements: the Customer Agreement (organization admins), Acceptable Use Policy, and Privacy Policy.
• Click Finish.

Why it matters:

ProcessMind takes you to the part of the product that matches your goal. Depending on your answers, this can be process modeling, process mining, a sample process, or architecture setup. You can choose another starting point later from the create-process wizard.

What Comes Next

There is no separate “pick a tool” step: ProcessMind derives your starting point from your goal and follow-up answer. You can always start another way later from the create-process wizard:

• Process Modeling: design a process with BPMN from a blank canvas, an AI-generated draft, or an import.
• Process Mining: upload an event log and discover how your process actually runs.
• Generate Process and Simulate data: explore a sample process with simulated data and ready-made dashboards.
• Build my process architecture: set up your organization’s process architecture and roles with AI, offered while your organization has no other processes yet.

Once onboarding is complete, the Welcome checklist in the app guides you through your first steps (covered in the next section).

Your Welcome Checklist

After onboarding, your welcome page shows a getting-started checklist that guides you through your first productive steps. Depending on your role it includes items such as:

• Create your first process
• Build your process architecture and define organization roles
• Upload your first dataset
• Create dashboards and simulate your process
• Upload process artifacts
• Complete your user account
• Set up your subscription and seats

Each item opens the right screen, so you can tick steps off without searching. ProcessMind highlights what to do next based on your role.

Next Steps by Role

The fastest way to get value depends on what you want to achieve:

• Designer, modeler, or analyst: follow the Foundation path: model your first process, then publish it.
• Process Architect: follow the Architecture path: build your hierarchy, assign RACI, and launch the portal.
• Analyst / Operational Excellence: follow the Intelligence path: upload data, mine the real process, and simulate improvements.
